Job Title: Program Associate

Duration of the contract: Initially for six months, likely to be extended.

 Position Overview:

This is a technical position with the Program Team. S/he will report to Program Coordinator. The Program Associate is responsible for providing technical and programmatic support to the Program Coordinator and Program Director. This support encompasses program management, monitoring and evaluation and documentation and reporting. The position is initially for a duration of six months, subject to renewal.

 Principal Functions:

 Program management 

  • Support the Program Coordinator in program planning, management, and reporting.
  • Turn partner discussions, trips, and reports into clear analysis and recommendations for partners and Program Coordinator.
  • Lead the organization of program information and produce reports to support Trickle Up’s program management, grant reporting, and fundraising objectives.
  • Support the Program Coordinator in program monitoring.
  • Contribute to the development of program improvements on themes such as livelihoods, financial inclusion, convergence with government initiatives, health access for rural women, gender justice, and inclusion of people with disabilities.
  • Research and network with peer organizations to inform Trickle Up discussions on program design and partnerships.

 Monitoring, Evaluation, and Documentation

  • Support the development and maintenance of monitoring and evaluation systems that are well aligned with and responsive to the programme’s management, reporting, and learning objectives.
  • Participate in monitoring, evaluation, and documentation work through partner visits, and collaborating in the development of programme reports, such as case studies, technical briefs, research articles, and other publications


  • Prepare documents and provide planning support for advocacy work with National, State, and District-level stakeholders.


Education Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Social Science, International Development, Development Studies, Social Work, Gender or a related field.

 Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years of work experience in livelihood initiatives with an emphasis on grassroots development, women’s empowerment, financial inclusion, and related themes. Experience in an INGO in India is preferable.
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas: ICT, livelihoods, gender, social empowerment, governance, disability, and public health.


  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English; fluent in speaking in English and Bengali; working knowledge in Hindi and Oriya
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proven demonstration of behaviours associated with and technical understanding of gender equity and diversity.
  • Strong computer skills and adeptness with ICT tools.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary and benefits for the position will commensurate with qualification, experience and last drawn salary. Maximum CTC (Cost to Company) per annum shall be ₹ 4.21L PA (approx.).
