Position Overview:

This is a technical position with the Program Team. This position reports to the Program Coordinator.

The Technical Coordinator – Smartphone and Mobile App is responsible for providing technical support to the Program Coordinator and is responsible for the working with third party vendors to support the development and management of smartphone applications, API server dashboard, and mobile application management. The position is also responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the smartphones and applications, and acts as the consultant for the application changes and upkeep. This support encompasses program management, monitoring and evaluation and documentation and reporting. The position is based at either Pakur or West Singhbhum districts of Jharkhand. The position is initially for a duration of six months, subject to renewal.

Principal Functions:

Smartphone and App Development and management 

  • Contribute towards the development of the Smartphone Application (Android), Mobile App Management, Server Dashboard and smartphone assets and technology lifecycle.
  • Ensure project deliveries as per agreed timelines without compromising the quality by engaging with relevant stakeholders.
  • Review solution design of Application and Modules and ensures the incorporation of best design practices.
  • Closely interact with Architecture review board to ensure the right solutions are provided to the application and to ensure the changes are solution-ized properly.
  • Ensure the team works closely with the incident management team and the problem management team to ensure the closure of bugs and incidents reported.
  • Provide regular guidance to program team to come up with the most optimum solution for changes in the application.
  • Contributing towards the IT organizational requirements and architectural engagements involving multi-tier application designing
  • Ensuring and own the performance, availability and scalability of the application with constant interactions with Applications Architects, Application Delivery Team and Infrastructure Management team.
  • Participating and recommending in the vendor evaluations for enhancing the technical capabilities.
  • Participate and deliver on the activities / tasks contributing towards the overall unit / organization goals on assignment basis
  • Develop and participate in field test planning, test scenario writing, bug tracking and risk management.
  • Provide onsite technical support, performance testing and execution of network specific test cases where necessary.
  • Develop and implement effective monitoring guidelines and timely reporting to all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the delivery of Digital kits (including mobile phone and applications.)
  • Manage and train technical support teams in the field for efficient distribution of kits and resources.
  • Provide regular reports on key performance indicators.
  • Provide input into technology-related project budget decisions.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Documentation

  • Support the development and maintenance of monitoring and evaluation systems that are well aligned with and responsive to the programme’s management, reporting, and learning objectives.
  • Participate in monitoring, evaluation, and documentation work through partner visits, and collaborating in the development of programme reports, such as case studies, technical briefs, research articles, and other publications.


Education/Experience Requirements

  • Graduate/ Post graduate with minimum 3 years of experience in Development/ Application Architecture.
  • Hands on experience in managing Technical experts, and an expert in technology like JAVA J2EE/.NET/Sybase, HTML5 and Android Knowledge in emerging technologies and technology trends.
  • Can exhibit commanding knowledge on Service Oriented Architecture & Micro service Architecture. Having a hands on experience on 3rd Party API - Designing & Developing applications grounds up.
  • MIS solutions expertise will be an added advantage with flair for Internal and external customer service, clear understanding of the project management framework. Awareness on the concepts of quality management practices and methods.
  • Experience in working with development sector in India is preferable

Other Skills:

  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English; fluent in speaking in English and Bengali; working knowledge in Hindi and Oriya.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Proven demonstration of behaviours associated with and technical understanding ICT for Development and Mobile for Development.
  • Strong computer skills and adeptness with ICT tools.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary and benefits for the position will commensurate with qualification, experience and last drawn salary.
